ALL LEAGUE FIXTURES POSTPONED - SUNDAY 05th FEBRUARY 2012
The Charnwood Sunday Football League Management Committee have taken the decision, as at 13:20hrs on Saturday 04th February 2012, to have a blanket postponement for fixtures scheduled for Sunday 05th February 2012. To confirm, ALL LEAGUE fixtures have been postponed by the CSFL.
At the time of considering this decision, 11 League fixtures had already been called off by Clubs, and the following points were taken into consideration by the CSFL: (1) Weather conditions - Current and forecasted (currently, many pitches have iced over in parts and are already considered unfit, and unsafe, for play). The forecasted weather, including snow in some parts of the County, in addition to the wind/chill factor expected, means pitches will not be able to thaw out in time. This is clearly too dangerous to play a competitive fixture. (2) Safety - with the current (and forecasted) weather conditions, it may be hazardous to travel on the Sunday morning. (3) Expenses - we are trying to keep these to an absolute minimum for all Clubs scheduled to play. The CSFL has circulated, via email to all Club Secretaries, this message of a blanket postponement. If you are a player, referee, club officer or just an avid spectator of local football, please note that ALL games for the CSFL have been postponed by the League.
We trust that you understand the reasoning behind the League's decision to postpone all fixtures and hope to have normal playing service resumed next week, on Sunday 12th February 2012.

CSFL Accepting Applications from New Clubs for 2012/2013
The CSFL are now accepting applications from New Clubs/Teams for the coming 2012/2013 season. If you are interested in entering the League as a New Club, then please visit our Useful Documents page, and click on the "Guide For New Clubs" link for further information.
To submit an Application to join the CSFL, please click on the "New Club Application Form" link on the same page. Both of these documents are PDF files and can be downloaded from this site at any time. Simply complete as much of the form as you can, and email the General Secretary, attaching the Application Form to the email. The General Secretary will soon be in touch and the ball is officially rolling! You can post the Application Form if you so wish - please ask for the postal address via our Contact Us page.

Sunday 22nd January 2012 - Fixtures Revised

The Winner Is.... The Weather!
Although later than expected, the weather has once again beaten us this weekend. Out of all the Everards League Cup and CSFL Divisional fixtures, only 2 beat the weather! Both in the Everards League Cup, Wymeswold cruised past Mountsorrel Imps knocking a dozen past them without reply. The only other match saw Premier Division side Gaunt narrowly edge past Division Three's Cross Keys Newbold by the odd goal in 3. Gaunt, coming from 1-0 down, upped the pressure on their opponents and took the game more to Cross Keys Newbold to score twice in the second half and secure their place in the Fourth Round.

Lots of action today in the first match-day of the new calendar year. County Cup quarter-finals, FA Sunday cup action, and of course League fixtures across all divisions. 7th Heaven for Hob!
In the LRCFA Sunday Intermediate Cup, FC Hob hosted Fosse City in the 3rd Round. Whilst FC Hob hold a 100% record in the League, cup matches can always throw an unexpected spanner in the works - today, however, FC Hob march on into Round 4 of the County FA Competition, hitting Fosse for 7, with the away team only managing to take advantage of 1 of their chances. The scoreline does not really represent the real pattern of the match though, as the half-time scoreline of 3-1 gave Fosse enough of an incentive to keep pushing for a second goal. And they (Fosse) did push well in the opening 15 minutes of the second half, creating a few chances, earning some set pieces, yet FC Hob held firm with some no-nonsense defending and then caught Fosse on the break, straight through the middle, with a well-taken finish from FC Hob. After making it 4-1, although the away team tried to play and keep pushing, the momentum shifted and FC Hob cruised to the end of the match with a fifth, sixth and seventh goal.
In other LRCFA Cup Competition matches, a mixed bag of results in the Premier Cup with 3 of the 5 teams involved going through to Round 4. Stamford did the double over Alliance League's Advance Couriers, beating them 4-3 after beating them 2 weeks ago in the FA Sunday Cup after extra-time. Ashby Rovers enjoyed another win against Crows Nest, beating them 5-2, doing really well to reach the 4th Round of the Cup in their first season. Compass also progress after a 6-3 against Half Moon in their own back yard, whilst Quorn Royals and Wymeswold were the unlucky 2 teams exiting the competition after a 3-1 and 4-1 defeat respectively. The only other game in the Intermediate Cup saw Throops knock Burton (Sunday) for 6, Burton with a sole consolation goal. In the Sunday Shield, Riverside see their good cup form continue after beating Ball Park 4-1, whilst Swannington were edged out by the odd goal in 7, after extra-time, by one of the Cup favourites Reem Team. Stamford 'A' and Markfield Rangers are also out of the competition, after a 7-4 and 4-2 defeat respectively, whilst Loughborough Saints Reserves continue their good form, beating Enderby & District SC by 4 goals to 2. In the Sunday Trophy, Leicestershire Constabulary edged out White Eagles by the odd goal in 5 whilst Loughborough Royal Oak lose out at home 3-1 against Beaumont Town. In the Sunday Vase, Dead Rabbits beat Trees Reserves 3-0 whilst Racing Club and Ashby Rovers Reserves fly the Charnwood flag winning 4-2 and 3-1 respectively.
In the few League encounters, Stamford Reserves did their title hopes no harm after crushing AFC Sporting Charnwood on their own patch, scoring 10 without reply, whilst another promotion hopeful, Sileby Athletic beat Shepshed United 4-1, keeping them in 3rd place in the table just 1 point behind Stamford Reserves. FC Sporting Loughborough keep up their good start to the season after promotion last season, by beating Mountsorrel Imps 5-0, putting Sporting Loughborough into 4th place. In Division Three, Breedon keep up their promotion push beating Twelve 4-2 whilst Hugglescote United beat Ashby Lamb 2-0. In Division Four, bottom-side Walsh UK faced FC Hob Reserves, just 1 place above them in the table, and Hob Reserves walked away with all 3 points after narrowly edging out Walsh UK by the odd goal in 7. Cropston Rangers Reserves caused a bit of shock, beating promotion hopefuls FC Charnwood by 8 goals to 1. Hillmoren stretch the gap between themselves and the bottom 3 sides in the Division by beating Markfield Reserves 7-3, the gap now 6 points to 9th place Coalville Athletic after Coalville lost by 4 goals to 1 against title-contenders AFC The Vic. The Vic now 3 points clear of Racing Club however Racing Club have 2 games in hand, whilst second-placed Racing Club and 8th-placed Hillmoren are separate by only 3 points!
Sad day for football
As a mark of respect for such a tragic loss to the world, not only in football but as a genuinely great person, the League will update all results/tables etc a day later than usual.

Round-up!
Congratulations to the Saints, Wymeswold, Compass and Stamford for winning in your 1st Round matches of the FA Sunday Cup! Commiserations to Falcons, losing to Wymeswold 2-1 today. Saints won by the same scoreline, whilst Compass won their first ever FA Sunday Cup fixture by 4 goals to 2. Stamford winning away 4-1.
In the Everards League Cup first round, The Griffin caused a major upset by beating Sports Advocate Division One side FC Poplar 1-0. It wasn't a comfortable result by any means, with the 'keeper making several great saves on top of 2 penalty saves! A great cup result for The Griffin, and Division Four's FC Charnwood almost caused a bigger upset, taking Long Whatton all the way to penalties, eventually losing 5-4. Epinal ran Hathern close, Hathern winning 3-2 AET, whilst Cropston Rangers win by the biggest margin of all today's cup fixtures, winning 6-1.
The only game in Dutton's Garden Services Premier Division saw bottom-place Gaunt beat Ashby Rovers by 2 goals to 0, finally getting themselves off the mark in their 2011/2012 campaign. In Sports Advocate Division One, FC Hob re-claim top spot after beating Shepshed United 5-0, whilst Stamford Reserves drop their first points of the season, losing to Sileby Aths 1-0. AFC Sporting Charnwood earn their first win of the season, beating Burton (Sunday) 2-0. In Sylvia Haines Division Two, Swannington thump Markfield 5-1, Saints Reserves beat Riverside 3-1 and FC Sporting Loughborough drub Academicals by 8 goals to 1. The big shock of the division saw a struggling Mountsorrel Imps side beat Stamford 'A' by 3 goals to 2. In Division Three, Cross Keys Newbold maintain their 100% record, thrashing Cossington Royal Oak 10-1, Loughborough Royal Oak narrowly edged out Breedon by the odd goal in 5, Leics Constabulary beat Hugglescote scoring 3 without reply and Ashby Lamb earn a hard fought 3 points by beating Twelve by 1 goal to 0. In Division Four, Hillmoren thump Hob Reserves scoring 6 without reply, and The Vic also won by the same scoreline, beating struggling Walsh UK. Ashby Rovers Reserves remain in the mix for a promotion place after beating Coalville Athletic 3-1 and Markfield Reserves shared the spoils against Cropston Rangers Reserves.
Revised Fixtures Published for 16th and 23rd October 2011
Please see the Fixtures page (for October) to see revised fixtures for both the 16th and 23rd October 2011. This is due to cup competitions etc causing revisions to be required. All clubs concerned will receive notification from the League at least 5 days prior to the revised fixture date(s) as per League Rule.
Please also note that the 2nd Fixture List will be issued to all Clubs on Monday 10th October 2011 (to be published on the website asap after that date) - ALL Clubs are required to confirm receipt of issued fixture lists, in writing (post or email), failure to do so will result in the club being dealt with as per League Rules. Free Date requests must be made within deadline, in writing (post or email), in accordance with League Rules - telephone requests will not be considered under any circumstance. Weekly Round-Up! - Week 3
A shock result in the Premier Division saw new-boys Ashby Rovers beat Compass in their own back yard 3-2 whilst Stamford got their first win of the season after beating Royals 4-3. Saints are also up and running after beating Gaunt by 2 goals to 1. In Sports Advocate Division 1, Stamford Reserves edged out FC Poplar by the odd goal in 5 whilst the Aths beat Hathern 2-0. Marching side by side with Stamford Reserves, are FC Hob and Long Whatton - both winning today to keep the early pressure on the reigning champions! Hob winning 5-1 at Shepshed United and going top of the table on goal difference, whilst Whatton brushed aside Burton (Sunday) by 7 goals to 2. In Sylvia Haines Division 2, FC Sporting Loughborough earned a very respectable point against Stamford 'A' drawing 1-1, which gave Markfield Rangers the chance to go top of the table if they won - and the 4-1 result was just the tonic! Swannington move up a few places after beating Riverside 4-2 today, now up into 3rd place, whilst FC Sporting Loughborough move into 4th on goals scored. The other game in this division saw Mountsorrel Imps get their first points of the season after a 9-goal thriller against Loughborough Academicals, Imps winning 5-4. In Division Three, Cross Keys top the table after beating Loughborough Royal Oak 5-2, but Breedon and The Griffin are only 1 point behind after both teams won today. Ashby Lamb are up to 4th after beating Twelve 5-3. Hugglescote United got their first points of the new season after beating Leics Constabulary by the odd goal in 5. Division 4 saw Racing Club Hugglescote SC top the table whilst being the only team in the division with a 100% record, today beating Walsh UK by 6 goals to 1. Cropston Rangers Reserves also won by the same scoreline away to Coalville Athletic whilst FC Charnwood knocked 5 past FC Hob Reserves without reply. Markfield Rangers Reserves earn their first win of the season after beating Ashby Rovers Reserves 2-0 whilst Birstall Trees Reserves upset AFC The Vic by taking all 3 points, winning 3-1 in the Vic's own back yard.

The League Emergency Committee decided, on 31st August 2011, to cancel ALL fixtures originally scheduled for Wednesday 14th September 2011, due to lighting conditions.
