JOIN OUR LEAGUE
To get the ball rolling for joining the Charnwood Sunday Football League, you will need to follow the checklist below:
- Ensure you have enough people interested in playing for your team! Sounds silly, but you'd be surprised.
- Write to the General Secretary (information below) applying to join the League
Applications are taken between January and February of each year
newly-formed (or being formed) teams
can still apply to join our League after this point - please contact the General Secretary (details below) to see whether you can still join the League for the following season
- Towards the end of February, you will receive an "information pack" which includes a yellow application form (to join our League) and a County F.A. Affiliation Form
Follow the information in your information pack for instructions on who and where to send the enclosed forms to, as well as the deadlines and affiliation costs for both the League and the County F.A.
- You must ensure you apply and provide all the required information by the given deadlines. Information that the League will require from you would include:
A full list of players currently committed to playing for your team (including the team that player plays for or last played for - if never played, leave blank); whether you have sufficient finances/sponsorship(s) in place
to ensure you will not struggle early on; Have you arranged a Club structure yet, whereby you have a Club Committee (comprises of at least a Chairman, a Secretary and a Treasurer)?;
Have you got a confirmed pitch that your Club will be playing their home matches on? - If not, have you got any provisional grounds that may be available to you?
You may be asked to attend an interview so the Committee can ask any questions they feel necessary before deciding on whether to accept your application or otherwise.
